WASH SMART

Did you know that from the environmental impact that every garment creates, 82% of its energy use, 66% of its solid waste and more than half of its emissions into the atmosphere are produced by consumers when washing and drying their clothes?

To mitigate this issue we propose a series of washing tips & tricks to help you reducing these carbon emissions:

TURN TO 30º:

– Remember that the temperature indicated on the care label is the maximum at which that garment can be washed and not the recommended temperature.

– Even if it seems impossible, clothes also get cleaned at 30 degrees. So lower the temperature in your next wash, your electricity bill will thank you.

DO NOT OVERWASH:

– Wash full loads of clothes without overloading the machine. Not only does it save energy, water and soap, but because there is less friction between the clothes, they wear less and remain as new for longer.

– If your garment smells like tobacco or the bar where you drank your last beer, try airing your clothes before washing them. You’ll be surprised by how quickly the smells go away.

– For that occasional stain you don’t need to wash the whole garment. Do like our grandmother and try a stain remover.

SKIP THE DRYER:

– Dry your clothes like in the old days: on the clothesline. Not only will you save a lot of energy, but also your clothes will wear less.

– When you take your clothes out of the washing machine before hanging them, shake them; it will save you a lot of wrinkles.

WEAR LOVE AND GIVE BACK:

– Love your clothes, take care and pamper them and the moment you don’t like them anymore, DONATE them! There are thousands of donation centers scattered throughout the world, find your nearest point and give the garment the chance to be loved again.
