ALEX HUG

Alex Hug is the face behind A HUG. Born in Madrid, with a multicultural background, she has spent the last years travelling through the capitals of Europe gathering knowledge and inspiration.

Having studied at Central Saint Martins and Parsons Paris, she finally graduated with honours in fashion design from Marangoni London and Manchester Metropolitan University. She has also made a Master in Sustainable Fashion at ESMOD Berlin. Her work has always been highlighted by her critique of social and environmental issues.

With an eye on the future and looking for sustainable alternatives for the fashion industry, Alex founded A HUG in 2016. At A HUG she tries transform the unwanted into wearable artworks. Reinventing the fusion of the embrace into clothing A HUG produces garments under a sustainable philosophy in which reuse, redesign and recycling predominate.

Alex is constantly looking for new solutions and innovations to mitigate the damage caused by the fashion industry and to make A HUG a benchmark in new up-cycling technologies.

Thanks to the acquired experience in A HUG, Alex has a vast knowledge in transforming post and pre-consumer textile waste for its reintroduction into the retail market. She applies this knowledge to help other companies with dead-stock difficulties.
